Imam Muhammad Al Jawad was poisoned to death on the twenty-ninth of Dhu al-Qadah, 220 Hijra (the 26th year after his birth). Muhammad at-Taqi is buried beside the grave of his grandfather Musa al-Kadhim (AS) within Al Kadhimiya Mosque, in Kadhimayn, Iraq.
